Mel Bratton oversees the evaluation and development of DSE athletes and manages their pre-draft training schedules. Bratton began his exceptional football career in 1983 playing running back for the University of Miami Hurricanes. As a Hurricane, he scored 32 career touchdowns, tying for third “all-time”, which placed him in the football record book. By his final season, Bratton scored at least one touchdown in all but two games and helped to lead the team to victory in the 1983 and 1987 National Championship games.

A knee injury in his last collegiate game against Oklahoma forced him to decline to play his first season out of college and rehabilitate his knee for the following season. Through hard work and determination, Bratton was drafted by the Denver Broncos in the seventh-round of the 1989 NFL Draft. Bratton played for two seasons with the Broncos culminating in an appearance in the Super Bowl.

Because of his love for the game and expert evaluation skills, Bratton became an NFL scout and personnel coordinator for the St. Louis Rams, Atlanta Falcons, and Washington Redskins, which eventually led him to evaluate talent in regards to football representation. In his most recent endeavor he recruited JaMarcus Russell, who was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2007 Draft. Russell went to the Oakland Raiders.
